To be completely honest, I never had a period where I sat
and thought about my Magellan project for many reasons. I like to live in the
present, take it all in at that moment, understand it, and appreciate it. I am
glad I was able to do that because I would not have been able to do so after my arrival back in the US. As mentioned in the About Me section, I am a Resident Assistant for the
2017-2018 school year and I was hired after booking my flights for my Magellan
Project and training started while I was still in Dubai. I arrived to my
hometown from my Magellan Project at 9am on August 22nd and flew out
back to school the same day at 5:30pm.
I have, though, noticed a few differences. I am more
confident with myself. I feel confident being alone, the odd one out, because
that’s exactly how I felt for 3 weeks and there was not way I could avoid it.
Not only was this an educational trip for me, but it was a cultural and spiritual one for me as well.
